Recommended Driving Spots

Hello everyone, I am Sho Kondo, vice chairman of the School Festival Executive Committee. I am in charge of the staff blog again. This time, I would like to introduce some driving spots that I recommend.

The first is Megane Bridge in Tochigi Prefecture. This bridge is a very beautiful arched bridge made of bricks. Some may ask, “Why is this bridge a driving spot?”  What comes to mind when you hear the name of Tochigi Prefecture? Iroha slope.

If you are a car enthusiast, you must visit Irohazaka, a mountain pass with 48 curves in total, and it is a very enjoyable drive! In addition to Irohazaka, the road in front of the Megane Bridge is also a mountain pass with many curves, so please visit and experience it for yourself!

The second is located on Prefectural Road 40 in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. I do not know the name. The scenery at this spot is just beautiful. It is located near the top of a mountain, so there are few trees and beautiful fields all around. However, be careful because the scenery can change easily! Do you know one of the reasons why we chose this spot? It is the mountain road. The great thing about this road is that the surrounding scenery is beautiful. Usually mountain paths are surrounded by trees, but this one is not. You can take all the pictures you want. Please go there and take pictures. One thing to note, however, is that deer may appear in some places. In fact, I almost ran over one myself. Please be careful.

The last one is in Tokyo. This is a classic. It is typical for students to drive around Tokyo. I drove around Harajuku, Chiyoda-ku, and Shinjuku-ku. I was surprised at the number of cars and lanes around me. I have not been able to drive on the Metropolitan Expressway yet, so I would like to do so by the end of this year! The scary thing about the Metropolitan Expressway is the number of lane changes, curves, and the speed of the cars around you. I would like to practice with my parents.
