My Favorite Artist

Hello! I’m Taisei Mori, a second-year student in the International Media Program at the Faculty of International Relations.
For this staff blog, I’d like to talk about my favorite artist, BE:FIRST. I first discovered BE:FIRST when I saw their performance on the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen. I had actually heard some of their songs before and thought they were good, but I didn’t know who the artist was and couldn’t figure out how to search for them. Seeing them on Kouhaku and realizing, “Oh, this is the group!” was such a satisfying moment.
After that, I started watching audition videos and other TV appearances, and I became even more captivated. At first, I just thought, “They’re really cool,” but learning about the hard work they put in to achieve their dreams and seeing how the members support each other made them feel like more than just a music group—they became something truly special to me.
What I love about BE:FIRST is how each member has a strong personality, yet they create such a sense of unity together. Their songs cover a wide range of styles, and every time I listen, I discover something new. Before I knew it, I was listening to their music almost every day.
I’m really looking forward to their future activities, and I hope more people get to experience the charm of BE:FIRST!
