I went to see my mentor!

Hello everyone!
I’m Airi Kubowaki, a third-year student in the Faculty of Economics.
Starting this academic year, I’ve taken on the role of Vice Chair of the School Festival Executive Committee!
Today, I’d like to share a bit about where I went during Golden Week!
The place I visited was... Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka Prefecture!
This year during Golden Week, I traveled to Shizuoka to visit a former teacher who has been a great mentor to me.
I learned that Hamamatsu is known as a city of music.
The Hamamatsu Festival was being held while I was there, and apparently there were performances by a wind orchestra—but unfortunately, I missed the timing and wasn’t able to hear them...
That said, Hamamatsu has much more to offer!
For lunch, I had Hamamatsu-style gyoza! I absolutely love gyoza, so I was more than satisfied.

Next, I visited Hamamatsu Castle.
Although the castle was relatively small and had a charming, quaint feel, I happened to visit right around sunset—so it was absolutely perfect!

In addition, I stayed at a hotel for one night and two days, and my room was on the 32nd floor, so I was able to fully enjoy the beautiful night view.

On the final day, I had unajū, and I also received some lovely gifts from my former teachers.
Thanks to all of that, I had a truly fulfilling Golden Week.
If you ever have the chance to visit Hamamatsu, I highly recommend trying Hamamatsu-style gyoza!
Thank you so much for reading this far!
