3 Gourmet Recommendations by Masahiro Yamashita

Good morning!
I’m Masahiro Yamashita, the vice-chairperson.
I’m a student in the Department of International Relations within the Faculty of International Relations.

In this blog post, I’d like to introduce three food spots I highly recommend.

I absolutely love eating. I’m not a picky eater—I’ll eat anything—and since I get hungry quickly, I tend to eat whatever I’m craving right away. I eat out a lot, so my food expenses are pretty massive—it’s a real struggle! (Haha.)

The first spot is "Kura Sushi Mutenzo" in Nakameguro.
This is a premium-style restaurant from the popular conveyor-belt sushi chain Kura Sushi. It’s a bit pricier than the standard locations, but the portions of both the fish toppings and the rice are generous, and the satisfaction level of each plate is on a whole different level. I visited during lunchtime and found a great selection of limited-time menu items. They also offer unique presentations and features you won't find at regular Kura Sushi locations, making it a satisfying experience that goes beyond just the meal itself.

The second spot is "LINA STORES" in Omotesando.
It’s a stylish restaurant serving authentic Italian cuisine from London, famous for its delicious fresh pasta, so I decided to check it out. The interior and service were incredibly sophisticated; the upscale atmosphere made me a bit nervous at first, but since they also operate as a café, I was able to settle in and enjoy my meal comfortably once I was seated. I ordered a rare steak, and I loved the lively atmosphere of watching the chef grill it right in front of me at the counter.

The third spot is, needless to say, "Yokohama Iekei Ramen Sakadoya."
It’s no exaggeration to say that a student's stomach is fueled by ramen. Sakado is my hometown, and I’ve been visiting the main branch—located right in front of Sakado Station—since my high school days. It’s a favorite spot of mine; I’ve visited so often that I’ve lost count of how many stamp cards I’ve filled up. My top recommendation is the "Kuro" (Black) ramen, featuring a tonkotsu-shoyu (pork bone and soy sauce) broth. The flavor of the pepper adds a perfect accent to this exquisite ramen. Students get free rice, and on the 3rd of every month, the standard ramen is available for just 600 yen, so you can fill up even when you're short on cash. There’s a second branch near the Kawagoe Campus, so please give it a try! So, what did you think?

My stomach was growling even while I was writing this blog post.

You should definitely check it out! In fact, let's go together!
